We are the mighty crew

Mike.
Born and raised in Kingston Ontario, Canada. I spent the summers as a young child at our family cottage in Brule, located on Canada’s East coast near Shediac, New Brunswick. Growing up on the Ocean I loved being on and in the water. Our family always had a sailboat that we kept in Lake Ontario and brought to the cottage in the summer.

My other love, being you need to find something to do in the long cold winters, is downhill skiing. Living in the Gatineau Hills outside of Ottawa we were 2 minutes (couch to couch) to Mont Cascades ski hill. My day life was working in the city and my evenings and weekends were teaching skiing and enjoying the slopes.

I think there were two big things in my life that really shaped my natural affinity for the boating life. The first is having been born and raised in the Canadian Maritimes (New Brunswick and PEI). It is there that I fell in love with camping, water and nature in general. The second thing that shaped me is actually two things - my parents.

My dad is a retired air force pilot who showed me the joy of planning and checklists. My mom, by her very nature, taught me about really connecting with people and the importance of family and friends. To me, being able to plan everything and then somehow still going with the flow is what makes the boating life intriguing. I feel blessed!
Ocean.
Ocean is our beautiful 5 year German Shepherd Dog. She has grown up on Wild Horses and can be found lounging on just about any nook and cranny of the topsides of the boat, even when we are underway. She loves everyone and everything but nothing more than swimming. Well, except her stuffed cow. We even have cow backups in case he decides to abandon ship.
